Abhishek Sharma mired in huge controversy ahead of England series


India opener Abhishek Sharma wasted his only holiday ahead of preparations for India’s T20I series against England, getting into an argument with IndiGo staff. The southpaw took to social media to express his frustration.

Abhishek was so angry over the alleged gross misconduct by a Delhi airport staff member that he even mentioned her name in his story. He further called it his “worst aviation experience” and claimed the staff failed to assist him.

Abhishek Sharma brutally slams Indigo Airlines employees

Abhishek Sharma shared a story on Instagram recounting the entire incident that happened to him at the Delhi airport. He named the manager “Sushmita Mittal” and said it was his worst experience with IndiGo.

The prosecutor said airline staff kept moving him from one counter to another, causing delays in check-in and causing him to miss his flight and be unable to return home.

“I had the worst experience at Indigo at Delhi Airport, the behavior of the staff, especially the counter manager Ms. Sushmita Mittal, was absolutely unacceptable. I reached the correct counter on time but they redirected me unnecessarily Went to another counter. Just told me later that check-in was closed, making me miss my flight,” Abhishek wrote on his Instagram story.

“I only had one day off and it is now completely ruined. To make matters worse, they offered no further help. This has been the worst airline experience so far and the worst staff management I have ever experienced, ” he added.

It is believed that Abhishek wants to spend time with his family and close ones before joining the Indian team for the T20I series against England in Kolkata, with the first match to be played on January 22.

Abhishek Sharma wins Vijay Hazare Trophy

Abhishek Sharma recently represented Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and he is also the captain of the team. On January 11, Punjab exited the tournament after losing to Maharashtra in the quarter-finals.

Abhishek had a great time with the bat in the match. He scored 467 runs in eight games at an average of 58.37 and a strike rate of 130.44 on 5/103. Currently, he is the fifth-leading run scorer this season.

Abhishek Sharma’s T20I number

Abhishek Sharma has been a part of the Indian T20I squad for the past few months. After making his T20I debut in Zimbabwe last year, he has continued to get opportunities to cement his place in the team.

The youngster has shown flashes of talent but has yet to find consistency. He played 12 T20Is and scored 256 runs at an average of 23.27 and a strike rate of 171.81. He was dismissed for a duck in the first T20I but smashed a belligerent hundred in the second.

India will play a five-match T20I series against England and Abhishek Sharma is expected to open the batting alongside Sanju Samson. Abhishek is a naturally aggressive batsman who can take games away from his opponents through his knocks.
