Andy Muschietti Thinks The Flash Isn’t For Everyone

After spending very long in the progress of hell, The Flash it really came and came out in 2023 right? Definitely put on by Warner Bros a lot of effort to make sure people know it’s coming, but the audience at the end bounced off it’s pretty hard between a year of superhero movies panning in theaters.

To the director Andy Muschiettithe film’s biggest failure is that it never quite found its audience. In a translated interview with the Argentinian outlet Radio TU, he said that it is not a proper “4-quadrant” movie: one that appeals to the male and female demographics above and below the age of 25 years. “If you’re going to spend $200 million making a movie, Warner wants to bring even your grandmother to the theaters, and The Flash failed at that,” he explained. And although he acknowledges other factors that may have had something to do with things, such as a case of superhero fatigue that year and the troubling allegations surrounding the lead actor. Ezra Miller At the time, she felt that not many viewers cared about the Scarlet Speedster, “especially the two female quadrants,” backed by box office reports at the time revealing its demographic split leaned heavily towards men.

Everyone has their own individual reasons for abstinence The Flash, even everything around Miller or just thought it wasn’t a viewing appointment. The bit about people ignoring The Flash is…well, the CW’s long-running show (which wrapped week before the movie hit) partially put that to bed. What Muschietti probably means is that audiences don’t care about the DCEU version, which is also a problem with the movies. Miller got Barry Allen cool action bitsbut nothing really made people care about him like they did (and still do) other collections of characters in the universe, or would-be heroes like Green Lantern.

The Flash’s cinematic future is now up in the air, as is any DC character that isn’t Superman or by Muschietti Brave and Bold. But if and when speed returns, maybe create a version of him that people like that aren’t just largely cribbed from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man?
