There are still 44 days until Artur Beterbiev’s rematch with Dmitry Bivol on February 22 in Riyadh.
Undisputed light heavyweight champion Beterbiev (21-0, 20 KOs) looks to end his fight with Bivol (23-1, 12 KOs) for a second time. He’s going to do it in a way that fans and his promoters can’t complain like they’ve been doing 24/7.
no more mistakes
The February 22 event will air live on DAZN PPV. Several of the undercard matches were arguably better than the main event.
Beterbiev won a 12-round majority decision against Bivol on October 12 last year, but it was not decisive enough to satisfy fans, allowing him to continue to fight against more popular fighters and achieve greater success. Better results.
So Arthur is in trouble again, but this time he’s expected to attack Bivol mercilessly, chasing him down to take him down. Beterbiev’s mistakes against Bivol made the scoreline closer than it should have been.
Bivol fired a four-punch combination in the seventh round that angered Beterbiev. He tried to do what he did against Arthur Canelo Alvarez. This awakened Beterbiev’s competitive spirit and the disrespect shown by Bivol, who hunted him from then on.
Can Bivol take it and deliver?
When Arthur finally started to press Bivol relentlessly, it was one-sided. Dmitri looked terrified, unable to stand and fight. This is the fun part. Bivol is less brave than some of Beterbiev’s recent opponents, such as Anthony Yarde and Callum Smith.
Both men came to fight and tried to knock Beterbiev down. We didn’t see that from Bivol, who was scared the entire second half and made the game look boring. This is the same thing Dmitry did in his match against Lyndon Ahur after he was injured by him in the championship match. Bivol doesn’t want to fight Arthur anymore after being slashed.
Beterbiev’s mistake
- Slow startup: He didn’t continue to attack until the sixth round, by which time Bivol had already scored a lot in the first five rounds. Some thought he had done enough to win all five games before Beterbiev started to put pressure on him.
- So much respect to Bivol: Arthur looked worried about being hit by Bivol’s quick combinations in the first five rounds.
“There is a saying. “The top of the mountain is cold and lonely. “I’m not at the top. I walk the earth. I’m not alone,” Artur Beterbiev told DAZN Boxing. “All my fans are with me. Close locals.”
