Brentford sign Kayode and say Visa ‘not for sale’

Brentford have signed Fiorentina defender Michael Kayode on loan and insist forward Yoan Visa will not leave the club this month.

Wisa, 28, recently became the club’s top scorer in the Premier League and has scored a total of 41 goals since arriving from Lorient in 2021.

He was linked with a move to Nottingham Forest earlier this week but manager Thomas Frank cannot see a transfer progressing.

He said: “All these rumors are good, I like the transfer window.

“There’s been a lot of rumours, for me again, he’s a Brentford player and I don’t think Visa is for sale, he’s been our first number nine, he’s fantastic.

“I don’t see why we should sell it.”

Kayode, 20, is a versatile player who can play at full-back or in the center of defense and Frank is delighted to have his man.

He added: “We really like him, very happy that we’ve managed to sign him to give us more depth in the full-back position. I think he’s very talented, a fantastic physical package.

“He has good abilities to go forward. Very good defensively. Of course, he is young and needs to develop. He has not played much this season but last season he played the whole season at Fiorentina.
