Chargers’ Justin Herbert has terrible performance against Texans in playoff game


Los Angeles Chargers Quarterback Justin Herbert threw four interceptions in Saturday’s 32-12 playoff loss to the Houston Texans. Herbert threw just three interceptions in the regular season, joining Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers as the only quarterbacks with fewer than three interceptions in a season.

But Herbert He didn’t look like Brady or Rodgers at any point during Saturday’s disastrous day. Herbert was intercepted four times and completed just 14 in 32 attempts, arguably the worst performance of his career.

This also gave him a 0-2 record in the playoffs. His only other playoff game was a historic upset against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2022 Wild Card Round.

Herbert was the target of intense criticism on social media during and after Saturday’s game.

The play came after Ladd McConkey caught an 86-yard score early in the fourth quarter. Cameron Dick’s extra point attempt was blocked by Denico Autry.

The ball flew high into the air on the deflection and Dick tried to knock it down, but the ball bounced out of his hands. Rose grabbed the ball and scored in return, extending the lead to 25-12.

The NFL began awarding two extra points for returns into the end zone in 2015. Prior to this, the extra point recovered by the defense was blocked and was a dead ball.

According to Sportradar, this is the ninth time a bonus point has been awarded for a score since the rule change. This has happened once before during the 2024 regular season, when the Eagles faced off against Tampa Bay on Sept. 29.

With the loss, the Chargers went without a playoff win for the sixth consecutive season. They haven’t won a playoff game since Phillip Rivers last led the team in 2018, when they defeated the Baltimore Ravens in a wild-card game. Ravens).
