Cocaine consumption in France has almost doubled




Cocaine use in France has almost doubled, with 1.1 million people taking the drug at least once in 2023, according to a study published on Wednesday. By comparison, the French Center for Monitoring Drugs and Drug Addiction (OFDT) previously estimated the country’s annual cocaine consumption at 600,000 users when it published its previous report in 2022. France now ranks 7th in Europe for cocaine consumption. FRANCE 24’s Antonia Kerrigan tells us more.
