Covida reaction: Trump targets the UN World Health Organization




In the crowded wagon of the Paris metro or at the counter of hectic cafe, it is easy to forget what was overlooked over us just five years ago. However, on the fifth anniversary of the first closure in Wuhan in China because of the Covid-19, titles speak a different story: Donald Trump, on the first day of re-performing duties, signs the command of the United States to withdraw from the World Health Organization. We will examine why the UN health body could lose its biggest donor and discuss the complaints surrounded by global health leadership. Do we deal with the edge groups against vaccination – or with deeper dissatisfaction? And just as many who fell ill in the early days of pandemic still struggled with covida, fear, isolation and anxiety due to quarantine left a lasting mark on our politics? Five years later, Covid is hardly part of the conversation. What key questions do they remain unresolved?
