Full list of England men’s confirmed Test, One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals for 2025, a year that will end with the Ashes series in Australia.
Brendan McCullum will take over as England’s all-round head coach on Wednesday when his side take on India in the first of five T20 matches in Kolkata.
England have won 22 of 35 Test matches under the McCallum-Benstock regime, having managed just one victory in the previous 17 games. McCullum has joined England’s white-ball side after giving up two World Cups in the past 18 months.
Early indications are that the former New Zealand skipper will bring the same style to the T20 and ODI teams as he is “desperate for us to play a real brand of cricket worth watching”, while England skipper Jos Buttler is keen Enjoy the opportunity to work with McCallum.
“As a player, I was a fan of Brendon McCallum and always loved playing with him,” Butler said. “I have great admiration for what he has done for New Zealand.
“He’s very good friends with (former England captain) Ooin Morgan, who’s one of my good friends, so I got to know him through him and the various franchise tournaments we played at the same time.
“It’s a strong relationship and I’m really pleased to have developed that as a professional coach and captain. I’m really motivated by it and I’ve been looking forward to this moment ever since it was mentioned that Baz could become a white-ball coach Too.”
