WBC and WBO junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundola will face Errol Spence, tentatively scheduled for March 29 in Las Vegas. The fight is still being negotiated.
Former unified welterweight champion Spence (28 wins, 1 loss, 22 KOs) already had 20 by the time his match with “The Towering Inferno” Fundola (21 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss, 13 KOs) occurred. Yue did not participate in the competition. On March 3, Errol turned 35 years old. The match is expected to air on PBC’s Prime Video PPV. There’s no word yet on the pay-per-view price, but it’s likely to be closer to $80.
@FerSabatiniBox and @DanRafael1 broke the news about the March 29th match between Fundora and Spence.
On July 29, 2023, Spence lost to Terrence “Bud” Crawford via ninth-round knockout. Errol took a lot of punishment in that game and wasn’t competitive at all. Physically, he doesn’t look like he did in 2018 and early in his career. Some believe a combination of injuries sustained in a 2019 car accident, altercations, lack of exercise, weight gain and age have weakened Spencer significantly.
The 6-foot-5 Fundora himself is coming off a lengthy layoff, having last fought on April 30, 2024, defeating WBO 154-pound champion Tim Tsyo via a 12-round split decision (Tim Tszyu). It was a tough fight for both men, with a clash of heads earlier in the fight leaving Tszyu in a bloody mess.
