Former KKR teammates Gautam Gambhir and Brendon McCullum share heartwarming moment at Eden Gardens


India and England are currently clashing in the first T20I of the five-match series series. The match was held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Although both team The head coaches of both sides, who were getting ready to go on the field, got the opportunity to reunite. India head coach Gautam Gambhir and England head coach Brendon McCullum shared a heartwarming moment with each other before the match began.

Both of them were busy talking to their teams before Gautam Gambhir spotted McCallum. As soon as the former India opener saw McCullum, he ran towards him and the two embraced.

Gambhir and McCullum had shared a dressing room at Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL more than a decade ago. In 2012 and 2013, McCullum joined the Kolkata-based franchise under the captaincy of Gambhir.

Talking about the match, India had complete control in the first T20I. At the time of writing, England are 94/5 after 13 overs, with captain Jos Buttler alone. Buttler remained unbeaten on 60 matches, accompanied by Jamie Overton (2*).

Varun Chakravarthy broke the stands when he dismissed Harry Brook for 17 in the eighth over. The right-arm spinner also bowled Liam Livingstone for a duck in the same over, leaving England trailing by 4 runs at 65.

Jacob Bethell didn’t last long either, departing after scoring seven runs off 14 balls. He was dismissed by Hardik Pandya.
