Three-time Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews He received the biggest blame after the Baltimore Ravens’ playoff run came to an abrupt and painful end. Andrews failed to catch a short pass from Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson on a two-point conversion attempt late in the fourth quarter.

“A lot of people are going to look at Mark Andrews because he failed on the two-point conversion,” Sims said on “Up & Adams” this week as video of the failed two-point conversion was shown.
While Sims admits Andrews needs to “catch” the ball, he also believes Jackson’s pass is “inaccurate”.

“Throw it, throw it! It’s too late, Lamar Jackson makes $55 million a year, that ball needs to be on time, but it’s not accurate. Mark Andrews needs to catch it, don’t get me wrong, but Lamar Jackson makes $55 million a year, and he throws it like a dart with both fists.”
Simms then praised the Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken Made a “perfect game call” as he continued to highlight Jackson’s pitches in the game.
“It was a perfect play. So we can’t be mad at Todd Monken,” Sims said. “I would say Mark Andrews is going to get a negative mark for going down in today’s meeting with Baltimore, and also, Lamar Jackson’s meeting with his quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator, he’s going to get a negative mark for going down. And it was a late throw, he didn’t throw it like he normally would, and then he threw it as hard as he could for a wide-open touchdown.”
Jackson ended the 27-25 loss with two touchdown passes and an interception. Ravens Two fumbles were also conceded, one of which was accounted for by Jackson. Andrews also had a fumble in the fourth quarter.

After the game, Jackson pushed back against the idea that Andrews was responsible for the play. “We’re a team,” the two-time NFL MVP quarterback said. “It’s not his fault. We’re not blaming it on Mark.”
