Friends abandon house as Palisades fire approaches

Tanner Charles and his friends were at home making his house as fire-proof as possible when the Palisade Fire began to approach. They filmed the moment they were forced to leave, running along a street with several burning houses.

The Palisades Fire was one of several blazes in Los Angeles that grew in size Tuesday night as strong winds battered northwest Los Angeles. At least 1,000 buildings have been cordoned off and more than 30,000 residents have been forced to evacuate.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday approved a major disaster declaration for California, which will give residents immediate access to funding and resources to recover.
