There have been few contracts in football history more significant than Erling Haaland’s recent bumper deal.
The Norwegian sharpshooter has put pen to paper on an extraordinary new Nine-and-a-half-year contract with Manchester CityA deal which, hypothetically at least, will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until he is 33.
Unsurprisingly, Haaland’s latest contract comes with an impressive pay rise and one that cements his position as one of the world’s top earners – a reward for exceptional service and relentless goal contributions.
But how does Haaland’s weekly pay packet compare to other football superstars?

If Haaland is indeed earning half a million pounds per week, that would make him the Premier League’s highest-paid player. Sadio Mane (£650,000) and Holland’s former Man City chum Riyad Mahrez (£580,000) also earns more than the Scandinavian behemoth on a weekly basis.
