How Erling Haaland’s alleged new wages compare to Messi, Ronaldo and De Bruyne

There have been few contracts in football history more significant than Erling Haaland’s recent bumper deal.

The Norwegian sharpshooter has put pen to paper on an extraordinary new Nine-and-a-half-year contract with Manchester CityA deal which, hypothetically at least, will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until he is 33.

Unsurprisingly, Haaland’s latest contract comes with an impressive pay rise and one that cements his position as one of the world’s top earners – a reward for exceptional service and relentless goal contributions.

But how does Haaland’s weekly pay packet compare to other football superstars?

There are conflicting reports on the exact figure Haaland is now earning with the reigning Premier League champions but it has been revealed TalkSPORT That his new contract brings tears to his eyes £500,000-a-week.

That’s a £100,000 per week upgrade on his previous salary and earns him a ridiculous £26m a year. Should he stay at Man City until his deal expires in 2034, Haaland would have earned £247m in wages alone.

Put differently, Haaland currently earns around £50 a minute and £3,000 an hour. This is before you consider sponsorship deals and bonuses. Simply mind-boggling.

If Haaland is indeed earning half a million pounds per week, that would make him the Premier League’s highest-paid player. That title was previously held by a Man City teammate Kevin De BruyneHis current deal is £400,000-a-week. of Liverpool Mohammad Salah And, significantly, Manchester United Casemiro is the next highest earner in the division and brings home £350,000 per week.

There are only six players in world football who currently earn more than Haaland, none of whom have played in Europe. Unsurprisingly, Saudi Arabia currently pays the highest wages with the Al Nasser star Cristiano Ronaldo £3.2m shatters the earth every seven days.

Neymar Jr (£2.65m) and Karim Benzema (£1.6m) both earn ridiculous weekly wages, while the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi Inter take home £865,000 per week for Miami.

Sadio Mane (£650,000) and Holland’s former Man City chum Riyad Mahrez (£580,000) also earns more than the Scandinavian behemoth on a weekly basis.
