Jason Roy’s horrific midfield collision with Harmeet Singh in ILT20 2025 match

Sharjah Warriorz batsman Jason Roy performed well for the team in the ILT20 2025 match against Desert Vipers. The match between the two teams takes place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Wednesday (January 22).

Jason Roy was the only fighter for his team against the Desert Vipers. The England batsman came on as a super sub for his team when the wickets were crumbling on the other side. He made sure he put in a good effort and gave the team something to fight with the ball.

Jason Roy also had a serious collision with his batting partner Harmeet Singh during the match. It was in the 13th over, on the 4th ball, when the England batsmen hit Dan Lawrence’s long outside ball towards point. He quickly finished the first run and wanted to run the second.

However, in the second over, he had a serious collision with Harmit Singh, with both batsmen crashing into each other. Both Jason Roy and Singh quickly got up and returned to the crease and then checked themselves.

Desert Vipers continue their golden form with bat and ball at ILT20

Coming to the venue, Desert Vipers continued their golden form with bat and ball in the ILT20 competition. The Sharjah Warriors had a horrific outing with the bat. They lost wickets from time to time and had just 30 runs in five games. That’s when super sub Jason Roy (30*) came into his own fighting spirit for the team, even as wickets fell at the other end.

Jason Roy defeated Sharjah Warriorz with 85 runs in the batting innings while Sharjah Warriorz managed only 19 runs. For Desert Vipers, Mohammad Amir was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up a four-wicket win.

In pursuit of their goal, the Desert Vipers put in an amazing effort. Fakhar Zaman (71*) smashed a miraculous half-century and along with Alex Hales (23*) completed 95 runs to take the team home. With this win, they almost clinched a spot in the playoffs.

T20 cricket can be one-sided at times and hopefully we can rectify that within a few days – Tim Southee

Sharjah Warriors captain Tim Southee spoke about the defeat, admitting it was not their best effort. But he hopes they can turn things around in the next game. After the game he explained:

“They’re always injured and it’s always tough when you have six players playing 30-plus games but the beauty of this game is we have a few days off to dust ourselves off and then see each other again These guys. T20 cricket can be one-sided and hopefully we can correct that in a few days.

“When you get to 90, you need to get wickets early, but with a couple of dangerous batsmen, after that you’re done.”
