Leicester vs Crystal Palace: Preview, Predictions and Lineups

Leicester City will be looking to end their five-game losing streak in the Premier League on Wednesday evening when they host Crystal Palace.

After a minor new manager bounce following the arrival of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Leicester have reverted to type in recent months. The Foxes have faced some challenging fixtures against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United, but have rarely challenged during disappointing defeats.

Saturday’s 6-2 FA Cup third-round win over Queens Park Rangers was essential on a foggy afternoon at the King Power Stadium, but Palace will pose a tougher challenge than their fellow Londoners.

Oliver Glasner’s side have restored their pride after an underwhelming start to the season and now sit seven points clear of Leicester heading into Wednesday’s clash. They have lost just one of their last nine outings and came from two goals down to pick up a valuable point when these two sides locked horns in mid-September.

here is 90 minutes Guided to an interesting clash towards the foot of the table.

Lester Several key first-teamers are still without some key first-teamers for Wednesday’s clash, with first-choice goalkeeper Mads Hermansen a notable absentee. Ricardo Pereira is also unavailable in the backline, but Janik Westergaard is expected to feature in some capacity against Palace, according to Van Nistelrooy.

Further forward, Wilfred Nddi is absent in midfield and Abdul Fatawu is unlikely to play again this season after suffering an ACL injury in November. Odsonne Edouard was unlikely to feature regardless but is unfit to face his parent club.

Leicester Predicted Lineup vs Crystal Palace (4-2-3-1): Stolarczyk; Justin, Cody, Westergaard, Christiansen; Soumre, Winks; Buonanotte, Al Khanos, Mavididi; Verdi.

Will Hughes

the palace have struggled with illness recently but Glassner confirmed that those who missed the weekend’s FA Cup win over Stockport County with flu should all return. That included Jean-Philippe Mateta, who scored a brace in the reverse fixture.

The Austrian also revealed that Will Hughes will once again be included in the squad after missing last year’s final. However, Adam Wharton will continue to watch from the sidelines as he recovers from a knee problem, with his return penciled in for early February.

Crystal Palace vs Leicester Predicted Lineup (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Chalobah, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Hughes, Lerma, Mitchell; Sir, Is; Test.

Leicester must make the King Power their stronghold during the second half of the campaign and have already amassed most of their points on home soil this term. The visit to Palace is exactly the kind of fixture they must win – or at least not lose – if they are to avoid a return to the Championship.

Palace have been resurgent over the past two months but are still struggling for wins. They have settled for plenty of draws, with goalscoring and chance creation both chronic problems. However, with Leicester’s leaky defense – second-worst in the division – having conceded two or more in their last seven games, the Eagles could have a hard-fought win in the Midlands.

Prediction: Leicester 1-2 Crystal Palace
