Premier League leaders Liverpool drew at Nottingham Forest but Manchester City lost at Brentford.

Nottingham Forest prove their unlikely credentials for Premier League title Liverpool drew 1-1backing them to victory over the leaders earlier in the season.

Diogo Jota’s header from a corner in the 66th minute gave Liverpool a point to maintain a six-point lead over Forest, who are second, and possibly more, in an unlikely bid to qualify for the Champions League.

Forest remain the only team to have beaten Liverpool in the league this season – at Anfield in September – and were on course for a home and away double after top scorer Chris Wood scored in the eighth minute. Arne Slaughter’s team.

Liverpool then ramped up the pressure but again failed to beat Forest, who are more likely to be stuck in a relegation battle than a title challenge at the start of the season.

Premier League champions Manchester City face more woes

City showed more mistakes late in the game, squandering a two-goal lead and ultimately drawing 2-2 with Brentford.

City conceded again in the 82nd minute and two minutes of stoppage time, with Phil Foden scoring twice for the struggling Championship side, who are fighting to qualify for this season’s Champions League.

City had taken just one win from nine before winning their last two league games against Leicester City and West Ham United, knocking them out of Champions League qualification. During that poor run of form, City conceded two late goals to lose to Manchester United, while also blowing a three-goal lead in a 3-3 draw with Feyenoord in the Champions League.

Jon Wiesa and Christian Norgaard were Brentford’s top scorers, keeping City in sixth place.

Chelsea draw with Bournemouth at home

Chelsea drew 2-2 with Bournemouth at home thanks to Reece James’s free kick in the fifth minute of injury time, but their winless streak in the league has extended to five games.

Cole Palmer gave Chelsea the lead with a cheeky shot in the 13th minute for his 14th goal of the season, but Bournemouth responded with Antoine Semeni Austria won a penalty – converted by Justin Kluivert – and scored in the 68th minute.

Chelsea remain in fourth place – at least until Wednesday’s game against fifth-placed Newcastle. Graham Potter led West Ham United to a 3-2 victory over Fulham in his first win as West Ham United manager.

Carlos Soler and Tomas Soucek scored in the first half, and Lucas Paqueta scored the crucial third goal for West Ham United, who brought in Porter last week to replace Julen Lopetegui was fired.

Potter’s first game in charge was Friday’s FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa. Alex Iwobi scored for Fulham to make it 2-1 and then 3-2. With this victory, West Ham United leads the relegation zone by 10 points.
