The Dallas Cowboys have parted ways with head coach Mike McCarthy after five seasons together.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Monday that McCarthy will no longer be the head coach after the two sides were unable to agree on the length of a new contract.
Dallas finished the season in the NFL playoffs with a 7-10 record and was in third place in the NFC East behind the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.
McCarthy, who will become a free agent when his contract expires, went 49-35 in the regular season, reaching the playoffs in three of five seasons and reaching the division as a Cowboy in 2022. Eliminated by the San Francisco 49ers.
