Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conducted an assessment of the security situation over delays in receiving a list of hostages, who are expected to be released on Sunday morning as part of a ceasefire deal with Hamas.
Netanyahu told the IDF that the ceasefire would not begin until Israel had a list of hostages expected to be released.
The agreement is set to take effect on Sunday 8:30 a.m. local timeHamas said it would provide a list of hostages.
Hamas said the delay in providing names was due to “technical reasons,” adding that it was committed to abiding by the ceasefire announced last week.

israeli cabinet The ceasefire in Gaza was approved early Saturday morning, including the release of dozens of hostages and a pause in the war with Hamas, which began after the Hamas terror group attacked the Jewish state on October 7, 2023.
The deal would allow 33 hostages to be released over the next six weeks in exchange for hundreds of Palestinians imprisoned by Israel. The remaining hostages will be released in the second phase, while negotiations will take place in the first phase.
Hamas agreed to release three hostages on the first day of the deal, four on the seventh, and the remaining 26 over the next five weeks.

Hamas says it will not release the remaining hostages without a lasting ceasefire and a full Israeli troop withdrawal.
This is the second ceasefire achieved during the war.
