Senate There may be some relatively uncontroversial Cabinet nominees. To save time, senators could agree to expedite the process and confirm one or more nominees by voice vote or unanimous consent.

As long as all 100 (currently 99) senators have no objections.

This speeds up the process in the Senate, where floor time is at a premium.

However, some Democrats may have good reason to oppose streamlining the process.

It’s not because they’re trying to clog the pipeline in the Senate. Democrats may demand roll call votes on nominees they support to show they are voting in a bipartisan manner to confirm some of them. President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee.

Democrats are likely to reject the nomination of Pete Hegseth as defense secretary. However, other relatively easy-to-confirm nominees, such as Florida Republican Sen.
