India ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma He was in a good mood and tried to bring Shreyas Iyer on stage while showing off his stylish dance moves. The fun-filled moment unfolded during the 50th anniversary celebrations at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, January 19.

Indian singer Shekhar Ravjiani performed songs from Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic film Om Shanti Om, energizing the crowd and encouraging them to dance. At that moment, Rohit was standing next to the former India head coach Ravi Shastrijokingly tried to call Shreyas to the stage while showing off his dance moves.

During the golden jubilee celebrations at the Wankhede Stadium, cricket legends Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Dilip Vengsarkar, Ravi Shastri, Ajinkya Rahane and Diana Edulji) were all present.

The event also brought together iconic male and female cricketers from the domestic and international cricket world in Mumbai.


“We will do whatever it takes to bring this back to Wankhede” – Rohit Sharma on ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Speaking at the Wankhede Stadium’s 50th anniversary celebrations, Rohit Sharma shared the team’s determination to do whatever it takes to win the upcoming matches 2025 ICC Champions Trophystarting February 19th. He expressed their aim to bring the trophy back to the Wankhede and said (via India Today):

“It has always been our dream to represent India in any ICC trophy and we will embark on another dream with 1.5 billion people. I am sure when we reach Dubai, the aspirations of 1.4 billion people will be left behind by us Finally, we know this and we will do everything we can to bring this trophy (ICC Champions Trophy) back to the Wankhede.”

The Men in Blue have been placed in Group A along with New Zealand, Bangladesh and Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy. Rohit and his team will begin their campaign against the Bengal Tigers on February 20. Dubai will host all India’s matches during this World Cup.
