The line-ups were confirmed as Hojlund dropped as Zirkzy arrived

Manchester United will back up their 3-1 win over Southampton on Thursday night when they take on Brighton this afternoon.

Ruben Amorim’s men struggled for most of the contest against the Premier League’s bottom club but Amad Diallo’s late hat-trick earned them a comfortable 3-1 victory.

The victory moves them up to 13th in the table and another three points this afternoon will see them move up to 11th.

However, Brighton will present a tough challenge.

Fabian Herzeler’s side may not be at their best at the moment but they have found a strength that has resulted in a five-game unbeaten run in the league.

Rasmus Hojlund paid the price for his disappointing recent form by dropping to the bench.

The Denmark striker has scored just two league goals this season and has been replaced by Joshua Zirkzy.

Diogo Dalot returns from suspension and will play in a left wing-back role with Diallo moving further forward to play alongside Bruno Fernandes.

Harry Maguire is recalled in place of Lisandro Martinez in the third change.

Manchester United: Onana, Mazrouei, De Ligt, Maguire, Yoro, Dalot, Ugarte, Maino, Fernandes, Diallo, Zirkzy.

Herzeller made three changes to the side that won at Ipswich in midweek.

Out go Adam Webster, Matt O’Reilly and Simon Edingra with Lewis Dunk, Yankuba Minteh and former United striker, Danny Welbeck coming in.

Brighton: Verbruggen, Dunk, Van Hecke, Veltman, Estupinan, Baleba, Ayari, Minteh, Mitoma, Pedro, Welbeck.
