TikTok Banned in US: Here are 8 Alternative Apps

Byte created by Vine co-founder Dom Hoffman, and it’s now available on Android and iOS. The interface of the app is similar to TikTok. You can upload a video from your phone or film a new one. It probably has the least special effects in terms of editing. When I made a clip, I was only able to add text and a song, and the app was pretty limited in its choices for both. One cool feature that Byte offers is Ghost Mode: If you tap the ghost icon while filming, it will make your original image fade, creating a dream-like or flashback effect.

Until you start following other users, Byte will show different videos in your home feed. If you tap the magnifying glass, you can start exploring. The app sorts videos into different categories like fashion items, or genres like comedy, anime, weird stuff, pets, magic and more, instead of hashtags, as used in TikTok.
