Venezuela’s Maduro is sworn in amid protests and international criticism




The inauguration of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro left his opponents struggling with conflicting feelings of hope and disappointment on January 11, wondering why the self-described socialist leader could not be stopped despite credible evidence that he lost last year’s election.
