With the fourth round of the competition taking place next weekend, 90 minutes Breaks down everything you need to know…
Manchester United took the crown in 2024, when a 4-0 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur was enough to complete a victorious reign under the arches of Wembley Stadium. 2018 marks United’s first piece of silverware since the club’s founding.
Arsenal have long been the historic champions of the FA Cup, having won the competition a total of 14 times. Despite the club’s domestic dominance, the last time the Gunners picked up silverware was nine years ago in the 2015/16 season when they beat Chelsea 1-0.
Chelsea and Manchester City have shared domestic glory since Arsenal’s dominance began to wane. The Citizens have won gold in three seasons since, with Chelsea winning gold four times.
The first leg of the next fourth round will be played on Saturday 11 January between Brighton & Hove Albion and Durham and Manchester United vs West Bromwich Albion. The rest of the fixtures will go ahead on Sunday, January 12.
